Hello everyone,

My half term break was quite a "still time". It was very much about stopping to notice and reflect on a busy year of transitions and changes. Life and work is so busy and we often look to holidays to "get away" from everything - which is great, and works brilliantly. But sometimes, that can also lead you to come back home - and a realisation that nothing really has changed, or you still have that pile of "stuff" you need to sort through!! Sometimes you come back and realise you need to make some changes for your health and good. In the absence of space from our homes or a holiday, in yoga we are taught to sit in stillness and meditate, focus on breathing and let thoughts pass by, or over you, it is this practice that can also bring a new perspective, or a heightened understanding of what things really matter, what things serve us, what does not. Inviting you all to remember that we can all take a little mini break for ourselves, meditating can be just for minutes, not hours, just being in your breath is a way of meditating, away from distractions... And moving! Well in Yoga practice we learn that moving helps us to sit in this stillness, as well as learn more about our body, in fact moving in ways we don't usually can feel very much like a holiday for the body... helps to create something that I do sometimes feel is like a holiday for the body...

“Yoga is freedom—the stillness beyond thoughts and emotions. For just five minutes, watch every thought and feeling that arises. See them as passing clouds, not yours to hold. In this awareness, taste the profound freedom that is already within you.”
